I was that proper teenager whose first car wasn’t the nicest. My parents gave to match whatever money had saved up towards a vehicle once I got my license, and unfortunately, my dad was in a pretty dire car accident, and my parents had quite a few unexpected medical bills. My dad still wanted to match my money, despite the fact that I just didn’t want my parents to give me money for a car that they could be using to spend my money my dad’s medical bills. I didn’t have much money of my own saved up because I didn’t get a consistent job until after I purchased my car. When I first purchased the car, the a/c worked, but within about four weeks, the A/C went out. It was genuinely aggravating to drive a car separate from a/c because the summers and even Falls where I live are easily hot and muggy. I can remember just driving down the road and within minutes, my makeup was melting off my face. I would sometimes just pull over and cry because of how hot and uncomfortable I was in my car. Thankfully, I started dating my now wife, and she enjoyed to work on cars. She had my A/C working again within a day, and I was easily astonished. Having a/c made my life so much easier. I was absolutely able to prefer driving my car, and I think, that is the time when I easily got linked to it. Many years later, I look back at that time with both good and terrible memories, despite the fact that I find myself laughing at how much of a pain not having a/c was to me. Although to this day, I still miss my first car.
