Why can’t I find my HVAC dealer?

Nothing is more frustrating that trying to find something that you lost.

I am notorious for misplacing things and forgetting to file paperwork.

For this reason, when my heat went out last week I was really lost. I couldn’t find the phone number for our HVAC dealer and my wife had recycled the only phone book that we had in the house. I searched for over an hour for any of the old receipts I had from service calls but then gave up and logged on the computer to search the company information. First, I typed in the name of the company but there are many companies with the same name in various States. I guess, Steve’s HVAC Service, is just too common of a name. Then I tried adding my Zip Code to the search, that didn’t work either because I started getting many other HVAC dealers in the area instead. I knew that there was something up and most of those had paid for top billing on the search engines pages. I finally found the one I was looking for on page three of my search. I really think that, in today’s society, the bigger and more profitable companies have an advantage. They can afford to pay fees to bump their advertising and position to the top so people who don’t have a business that they deal with regularly will contact them first. I have to admit that when my frustration level increased with my own search, I was tempted to do the same thing. I will be sure to mention this to my HVAC dealer when they come to the house to fix my heat.
