Steve had the thermostat for the air conditioner set higher

Because Jim was going to be there for 3 more afternoons, he asked Steve if he could adjust the temperature control to 72 degrees while he was there

Due to the pandemic, Jim hadn’t seen his childhood neighbor Steve for about 2 years. Neither of them were traveling and then after the pandemic, life happened and they weren’t able to make time. Well, recently, Jim decided to spend some time with him. And especially because he had moved into his new lake house right before the pandemic hit. So, it made sense for Jim to make the trip to see Steve’s new place. His new lake house is great. It’s a modern lake house that has lots of bells and whistles. For the most part, everything went well when Jim visited except that the first night he couldn’t sleep. Unluckily, Steve had the temperature control for the cooling system set higher than what he was used to at home. His ideal sleeping temperature is around 72 degrees and anything higher than that is too hot for him. So, the first night was restless and Jim wasn’t sure where the temperature control was in the house. He didn’t want to wake anyone up, so he just did what he could to try to remain comfortable. The next day, Jim asked Steve about the air conditioning and he mentioned that he has his temperature control set to 75 degrees. It might not sound like a big difference, but apparently, 3 degrees can make a difference in whether or not he gets a superb night’s sleep. Because Jim was going to be there for 3 more afternoons, he asked Steve if he could adjust the temperature control to 72 degrees while he was there. Of course, Steve was cheerful to do so, and Jim slept like a baby for the rest of his time there.
