Now that my buddy and I made it to the retirement finish line, I’m sticking with the heat pump for all of my heating plus cooling needs.
So perhaps my buddy and I picked the wrong time to transfer south. Moving here in the middle of August is for sure one way to get a taste of what Summer will be like for the rest of my life. But moving here has consistently been the plan. Still, I’m not going anywhere but the central a/c of our new venue during the afternoon heat plus humidity! Just walking to the vehicle turns me into a sweaty mess. I know I’m going to have to get one of those remote starter for the car. It would be so nice if I could beginning the vehicle plus get the a/c running a bit before I go anywhere. It literally takes me five minutes to cool the vehicle down before I can leave the driveway. And feel me, that five minutes is a hot one even with the a/c on max. Yet, I know that my buddy and I made the right decision. While this level of Summer heat is going to be strenuous to acweather conditions to, I’m all for it. The easy fact is that I just couldn’t take anymore winter time weather. Having grown up with all that cold, I was just done. Never again do I want to see or need a gas heating system. While I’m awfully thankful that my buddy and I had such great heating from our gas heating system, I just can’t do that sort of cold any longer. Now that my buddy and I made it to the retirement finish line, I’m sticking with the heat pump for all of my heating plus cooling needs. But from what I understand, there won’t be all that much need for heating in my future. My neighbor says that he doesn’t even turn on the heat pump in the Winter. He has a space heater that he deploys if it’s a bit cold in the afternoon.
