I have to say that the geothermal heat pump turned out to be everything we thought it would be and maybe even more.

This is where we want to live now and even after retirement. Lots of folks head for the air conditioning of the south when they retire. That’s not something that my husband and I are all that interested in. We are from this region and don’t plan on leaving it. Sure, we have more Winter than they do down south. But that also comes with a lot enjoying a wonderful Summer where the air conditioning is needed during the peak heating hours of the day. By nightfall, the temperatures generally come right down to where the air conditioning really doesn’t kick on until the next day. Yet, it was the Winter weather that I was worried about when it came to using a geothermal heat pump. A normal heat pump is not exactly efficient or great at heating a house up here when it really gets cold. We’ve always had a gas furnace. So after we moved in early last Fall, I was a bit troubled that the geo heat pump just wouldn’t be warm enough. Wow, have I ever been so glad to be so mistaken. The radiant floor heating from the geothermal heat pump was incredible all Winter long. And it saved us a ton of money in heating costs as well. I’m looking forward to the air conditioning this Summer because I’m certain that the geo heat pump will make short work of that.
