The reupholstering company was in another neighborhood

Before my dear Grandma died, she left me her favorite set of antique chairs.

  • She had purchased them over thirty five years ago at a local antique store in the southern part of the city.

While I am not into using antique furnishing, these chairs were beautiful. They were well-constructed, they had no wear on them, & the design was utterly unlike anything that I had ever seen before. The only thing that was wrong with the chairs was that they needed to be reupholstered. The fabric was so worn out & needed to be replaced. I have never had anything like this done before & I literally knew nothing about reupholstering furniture. In fact, I didn’t know of any reupholstering dealerships in my area. So, I went on the internet to see if there were any reupholstering dealerships nearby. And though there were none in my city, I was able to discover a small reupholstering company in a nearby township. I contacted the company & alas, they weren’t able to supply a solid quote without seeing the chairs in person. They did say that the minimum price would be around $150, which I am not sure if that was a fair price or not. After doing some more research, I watched videos of people reupholstering their furniture themselves. I even found some people reupholstering antique chairs that they purchased at an antique store. I thought about trying this DIY challenge of reupholstering the chairs, even though I didn’t want to take a chance & ruin them. So, I made an appointment with the reupholstering contractor, & I will be taking my chairs to get them done next week.
