I laughed at my son when he told me he bought a shipping container.
He was a truck driver and told me he got it for a very good price.
I wanted to know what he was going to do with the shipping container and almost laughed when he said he was building a shipping container home. I thought he was kidding, but from the look on his face, I knew he wasn’t. He said he and his wife had been talking about downsizing. If they got a shipping container, they could turn it into a small home. It was going to take several weeks to turn make the rusty old shipping container into a shipping container home, but they were excited. I didn’t think the house was going to be much bigger than a small house trailer, but I was wrong. When the shipping container home was complete, he picked me up to take me home with him. He told me I was going to be shocked when I saw their shipping container home. You couldn’t recognize it for anything but a small home. It amazed me at how much room they had inside, and how nearly everything had a dual purpose. I told him I could live in a home like this one. He said they put wheels on the shipping container home so they could move it anywhere they wanted it. With the wheels, he could even pull it behind his truck and come visit. All he had to do was figure out to get his big rig up our driveway to park the shipping container home.
