I skipped getting my HVAC serviced because of the weather

Now that the colder months are behind me, I was expecting a break from high energy bills. Typically, during the Spring, the temperature is so pleasant that I don’t use my HVAC for heating or cooling. In fact, during this time of year, when I switch from heating to cooling, the unit barely runs because the temperature is always so pleasant outside. But to my surprise, this year, the Spring has been warmer than normal, so my HVAC unit has been running more than expected. This means that I won’t see much of a difference in my energy bill. There might be a slight decrease because it does require more energy to heat a home than it does to cool it down. In the Winter months, the HVAC unit is definitely working harder than it does during the Summer. But I am not sure what will happen this year, since the unit is already running this early because of the higher temperature outside. Not only that, but during the Spring I usually get my HVAC unit serviced to get ready for the warmer months. However, this year, I skipped that step because the warmer weather came on so suddenly. So, my HVAC unit immediately went from heating to cooling. I can’t predict or change the weather, I can only make adjustments inside my home to make it more comfortable. And if that means running my HVAC unit earlier than expected then so be it. Instead of getting my HVAC unit serviced now, I will just make the adjustment and get it serviced later this year in the Fall. Life is unpredictable and we just need to go with the flow.
