When my husband called the HVAC company, he told them it was an emergency.
He didn’t want to take the entire day off of work, just sitting around waiting for the HVAC technician to arrive.
He called his office and told them he had an emergency at home, and he wouldn’t be in. He had personal days he could use anytime, as long as he called and left a message by a certain time in the morning. He was taking a personal day. An hour after calling the HVAC company, the HVAC technician was there. My husband wanted to know how he got there so quickly? The HVAC tech said it was a slow day, and when the call came in, he was just coming on duty. He got into his uniform and headed right over. He and my husband talked about what was wrong with the air conditioning unit, and the HVAC tech asked questions. He wanted to know how old the air conditioning was so he could see if it was still under warranty. He also wanted to know if we changed the air filters regularly, and when was the last time it was last service. My husband was scratching his head, unsure when the AC unit had been serviced. He knew it hadn’t been this year, but he couldn’t remember if it was last year. He didn’t even know when the air filter was changed. I was heading to work, but I knew. I told him I changed the air filter a week ago, and it had been serviced the third week of March.
