My husband John has always been up for a challenge.
In fact, we met because of a challenge which by the way I won.
Anyway, he has always been competitive, and I have not known him to back down from anything. It’s for sure one of the reasons why I fell in love with him and eventually married him. Anyway, a few weeks ago, he was at the gym with his buddies and after he left the gym, he went to a local hardware store to pick up some materials. Apparently, John and his friends challenged each other to make a coffee table. Now, as I mentioned, my husband does not back down from a challenge, but I have never seen him make or even attempt to make handmade furniture. Don’t get me wrong, he’s pretty handy, but making handmade furniture takes some additional skills that I am not sure if John has. By the time he got home from the hardware store, he was already committed to the challenge, so at that point, there was not much for me to say. Over the next few days, he watched some online videos and worked on his handmade coffee table. I watched his progress, and I must admit, the coffee table was turning out better than I expected. In fact, he had a week to complete the table and he was done in 5 days. Keep in mind, he had never made handmade furniture before, so I gave him so much respect for all the effort that he put into it. Turns out that John won the challenge which he was pretty excited about. However, now I am worried that he’s going to want to make handmade furniture for our home.
