A social media post saved me from damaging it

And sure enough, it is not suggested to close the Heating & A/C vents

I am starting to think that I have a minor obsession with social media. It doesn’t seem like I can go 1 day without indulging in some form of online community! Currently, I am on a few platforms, and I have found myself mindlessly scrolling into oblivion – going down one rabbit hole after another. This is how I decompress after a long day of working in a high stress environment. Social media provides the mindless distraction that I need. Anyway, while scrolling through one of my feeds, I came across a random thread that was on one of my friend’s pages. It was a post about closing Heating & A/C vents. The only reason why I clicked on the post was because I had heard that closing the Heating & A/C vents can save money by shutting off the air circulation in empty rooms! Well, according to the post from someone who works in the Heating & A/C industry this is a myth and far from the truth. In fact, based on what the guy said in the post, closing Heating & A/C vents can cause more harm than good. Apparently, closing the vents causes more pressure on the fans which will then cause more wear and tear on the Heating & A/C unit. That was some eye-opening information as I have closed my Heating & A/C vents in the past. I am not sure where I got the idea from, I am sure it came from another social media platform or something that I came across over the years. Anyway, I went down the rabbit hole and searched the internet to see what information was out there. And sure enough, it is not suggested to close the Heating & A/C vents. This social media post saved me from potentially damaging my Heating & A/C unit.
